Stephen M. Fuson, D.P.M.
Dr. Stephen M. Fuson was raised in Tacoma, Washington. After graduating from Washington State University, he completed his medical studies in Podiatry at the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine and performed his residency at Monsignor Clement Kern Hospital for Special Surgery. He began his practice in Tacoma in 1977. He was the founder of the Pacific Podiatry Group, originally known as Pacific Foot and Ankle, which started in 1986. Dr. Fuson sat on the executive and surgical committees for Puget Sound Hospital. Dr. Fuson is also the current residency director at the Multicare Foot and Ankle Residency at Tacoma Family Medicine. He has many outside interests. He is an avid skier, bicyclist, mountain climber and hiker. He also enjoys playing golf.

Gene C. Knutson, D.P.M.
Dr. Gene C Knutson was raised in Bellingham, Washington and graduated from the University of Washington. He received his medical degree in Podiatry from the California College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He completed a podiatric surgical residency at the VA hospital in Palo Alto, CA and at Stanford University. He has been with the Pacific Podiatry Group since 1993. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Knutson enjoys many outdoor activities and is an avid golfer. He also enjoys spending quality time with his family.

Nicholas S. Heath, D.P.M.
Dr. Nicholas S. Heath was born and raised in eastern Washington and graduated from Washington State University. He received his medical degree in Podiatry from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. After graduation, he returned to the Pacific Northwest to complete a residency in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at Puget Sound Hospital. Dr. Heath has a special interest in difficult ankle injuries and reconstructive procedures. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Heath is an avid golfer and enjoys many outdoor activities with his family.

Scott E. Runde, D.P.M.
Dr. Scott E. Runde was raised on a farm in rural Iowa. He attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and then went on to the University of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his Podiatric Surgical Residency at Multicare Health Systems in Tacoma, Washington. Dr. Runde began private practice in Iowa, and then moved to Colorado to practice. In Colorado, Dr. Runde's practice was almost entirely podiatric sports medicine. He worked closely with professional and recreational athletes treating a wide variety of pathologies. He also became a member of National Ski Patrol and patrolled at Sunlight Mountain for two seasons while practicing in Aspen and Vail, CO. Dr. Runde returned to Washington and joined the Pacific Podiatry Group in 2004. He has a special interest in treating lower extremity pathology in athletes and active patients who pursue outdoor activities.

Huy Dang, D.P.M.
Dr. Huy D. Dang comes to our area from Chicago, where he attended Purdue, the College of Lake County and the University of Illinois at Chicago before earning his medical degree at the Rosalind Franklin/University of Chicago Medical School. Once in Tacoma, he served as the Chief Resident at the Multicare Foot and Ankle Residency from 2005-2007. Dr. Dang has specific training in rear-foot reconstruction. His additional areas of expertise include pediatric care, sports medicine, general care, wound care and surgery. Fluent in both Vietnamese and Spanish, Dr. Dang can communicate easily with many populations. In his spare time, Dr. Dang enjoys kayaking, climbing and running. He doesn't mind the Northwest rain, but misses Chicago-style pizza.

Heather Hento, D.P.M.

Dr. Hento comes to us from South Dakota, where she earned her degree in biology from the University of South Dakota, before continuing on to the Rosalind Franklin/University of Chicago Medical School. She then completed a three year surgical residency at St. John North Shores Hospital in Harrison Township, Michigan. She provides podiatric, sports medicine, general care and surgical expertise. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, jogging, tennis, and is an avid reader.
